Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- Rights activists have called for significant reforms to ensure direct representation for women in parliament and to guarantee voting rights for citizens with disabilities.
The recommendations, which came in a dialogue organised by the Election Commission on Tuesday, also included strong calls for measures to prevent violence against women candidates and voters during and after elections.
The event, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, saw participation from several election commissioners and key rights figures.
