Dhaka, Oct. 24 -- Eight months after its formation, the Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad (BGCS) has renamed itself "Jatiya Chhatra Shakti", unveiling a new motto as part of its reorganisation strategy.

The organisation announced the change at a meeting held on Thursday at the Abu Sayed Convention Hall near the InterContinental hotel intersection in Dhaka.

Alongside its new name, the group has adopted a new motto, replacing "Shikkha, Oikko, Mukti" (Education, Unity, Liberation) with "Student First, Bangladesh First".

Although the group was expected to announce a new committee during the event, no such announcement was made.
