Dhaka, Nov. 29 -- Train services to Sylhet have resumed four hours after an oil-carrying train derailed at Mallikpur, Fenchuganj.
The derailment around 8:30pm on Saturday halted all rail connections between Sylhet and the rest of the country.
A relief train dispatched from Kulaura recovered the derailed wagons, allowing two trains bound for Dhaka and Chattogram to depart by 12:30am, according to Sylhet Railway Police chief Md Abdul Quddus.
Immediately after the accident, Md Nurul Islam, railway station manager, said the derailment had stopped rail movement and that railway authorities were working to restore traffic.
