Dhaka, Jan. 16 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered two firearms in Cumilla, including one that was looted from the Highway Police during the July Uprising.

The weapons were found abandoned in a roadside pond in Muradnagar Upazila around 2am on Thursday, said RAB-11 Company Commander Sadman Ibne Alam.

He said operations were under way across the district to recover firearms looted from police stations during the July Uprising ahead of the general election.

"As a continuation of this effort, two firearms wrapped in tape were recovered from the pond based on secret information," he said.
