Dhaka, Nov. 19 -- The murder of Pallabi Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria involved not only political rivalry and a struggle for dominance, but also "large financial transactions", the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has said.
Lieutenant Colonel Mahbub Alam, commander of RAB-4, provided the information on Wednesday afternoon at a press briefing at the RAB Media Centre in Karwan Bazar, citing statements from two arrested suspects.
The killing, he said, was a planned operation. The two arrested are Monir Hossain, alias Sohel or Pata Sohel, 30, and Md Sujon, alias Bukpora Sujon, 35.
Monir has been identified in the murder case as the planner and instigator, while Sujon, who is named in 18 separate cases, has been described by RAB as a "suspect"....
