Dhaka, July 5 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested six more people in connection with the killing of a mother and her two children in Cumilla's Muradnagar, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to eight.

According to a statement from RAB's media cell, the six suspects were detained by RAB-11 on Saturday for their involvement in the killings.

A press conference detailing the arrests will be held later in the evening at the RAB media centre in Karwan Bazar. RAB-11's commanding officer Lt Col HM Shazzad Hossain is expected to brief the media on the developments.

Earlier, the Army had arrested two suspects in connection with the incident.
