Dhaka, March 3 -- Bangladesh Students' Rights Council President Bin Yamin Mollah has said reserving quotas for the family members of those injured and killed in the July Uprising in government schools contradicts the spirit of the movement.

Speaking at a press conference at Dhaka University's Madhu's Canteen on Monday, he said: "A 5 percent quota has been reserved for children of freedom fighters and children of July Uprising victims in the secondary and higher secondary admission exams.

"The government has taken this decision in complete contradiction to our July spirit."
