Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- Students of Government Titumir College have blocked the road in Dhaka's Mohakhali as part of their protest against the plan to create a separate university for seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University.

They have now joined the broader movement demanding preservation of their "independent structure", even as their call for a university to be formed specifically for Titumir College has gone unanswered.

More than 50 students gathered on the Amtoli-Gulshan road in front of the college around 12:30pm on Monday, bringing traffic to a halt and causing congestion on the busy thoroughfare.
