Dhaka, Oct. 16 -- The prosecution has sought the death penalty against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan for crimes against humanity case in their attempts to suppress the July Uprising.
Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam made the demand at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 after presenting his closing arguments on Thursday.
The other suspect in the case, former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, has already pleaded guilty and given testimony as a state witness.
