Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- The National Consensus Commission has submitted a comprehensive set of proposals to the government on how to implement the July National Charter, recommending that the process be carried out through a constitutional order and a national referendum.
Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz formally handed the proposals to Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday afternoon.
The submission also included a draft of the "July National Charter (Constitution Amendment) Implementation Order, 2025."
According to the draft, the Charter's proposed reforms must receive approval from the "sovereign people" through a referendum, followed by the formation of a Constitution Reform Council to enact the required amendments.
