Dhaka, Feb. 14 -- Candidates from the Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers Forum, loyal to the BNP, have won all 11 posts at stake in the Barishal Bar Association election which the pro-Awami League lawyers abstained from.

After voting ended on Thursday, election management convener Mokhlesur Rahman Bachchu announced the results on Friday morning.

SM Sadiqur Rahman Lincoln won race for president with 328 votes, while his closest rival, Md Mujibur Rahman Nantu, secured 243 votes.

Another candidate, Md Ali Haider Babul, polled 75 votes.

Mirza Md Riaz Hossain won the post of general secretary with 358 votes. His nearest rival Md Salauddin Masum, supported by Jamaat-e-Islami, got 162 votes, and BNP-backed candidate Md Azad Hossain secured 125 b...
