Dhaka, Feb. 14 -- At least 10 people have been injured in Natore's Lalpur Upazila in clashes between supporters of the BNP and an independent candidate after the election.

The incident occurred around 9pm on Saturday in Lalwalia Bazar, according to Lalpur Police chief Mojibur Rahman.

Two individuals have been detained for questioning, while the identities of those injured are yet to be confirmed.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ifte Khayer Alam said the confrontation began when supporters of independent candidate Taiful Islam Tipu reportedly assaulted two workers of BNP candidate Farzana Sharmin Putul during an argument over the election.
