Dhaka, April 18 -- Polytechnic students are planning to stage a mass rally on Friday afternoon, wearing shrouds on their heads in a symbolic demonstration to press for their six-point charter of demands.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday night by Md Sabbir Ahmed, who serves as the cell editor of the student organisation Technical Students' Movement.

According to the statement, students from polytechnic institutions across the country will join the mass rally following Friday prayers.
