Dhaka, Jan. 2 -- A policewoman has hanged herself in apparent suicide in Dhaka's Dakhshinkhan, police say citing her family.

The 28-year-old Rajia Sultana Mim, a Nayek at the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), was a native of Barishal's Wazirpur.

Police said Rajia hanged herself from the grill on the balcony on Thursday night following an "argument" with her husband.

She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by her husband Rajib Mia, a police constable posted at Bhanga Highway Police.

Rajib lived in Faridpur's Bhanga and visited his family living in Dakshinkhan every week. Rajia lived with her 19-month-old daughter in Dhaka.
