Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- Police have submitted the charge sheet against cricketer Tofael Ahmed Raihan in a rape case.

The investigation officer of the case, Gulshan Police Station Sub-Inspector Samiul Islam, submitted the charge sheet to the court on Nov 30.

SI Samiul said on Thursday, "We have submitted the charge sheet against cricketer Tofael Ahmed Raihan under section 9(1) of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act after receiving proof of rape allegations. The witnesses will appear at the court and testify to the truth of the incident."

SI Tahmina Akhter of the prosecution department said that the next date of the case has been fixed for Dec 30. The charge sheet will be presented in court on that day.
