Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- A Dhaka court has granted police five days to interrogate Mehedi Hasan Dipu, also known as Bipu, an alleged associate of "top criminal" Subrata Bain, in custody.

Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin issued the order on Saturday, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamal Hossain of prosecution police.

Joint forces arrested Bipu in a house at Middle Badda's Beparipara around 8:30pm on Friday.

Law enforcers said they recovered 11 foreign pistols and ammunition from his possession.

Following the arrest, SI Md Hasanur Rahman filed a case under the Arms Act with Badda Police.
