Dhaka, July 1 -- Police have named Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson for the Sanatani Jagaran Jote, as the prime accused while bringing charges against 37 others over the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.

On Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman of Chattogram police's Kotwali zone, also the investigating officer, submitted the chargesheet to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court of the city.

He said, "Of the 31 individuals initially named in the first information report (FIR), three have been recommended for discharge. The remaining 28 are named in the charge sheet, along with 10 others who emerged during the investigation.
