Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- Police have filed two cases in connection with the deaths of two people in a joint force operation in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area during an "exchange of gunfire with criminals".
On Thursday night, Mehedi Hasan, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Mohammadpur Zone, announced two separate cases of murder, obstruction of government work and illegal possession of firearms.
He said, "In both cases, five people were arrested during the operation and 20-22 unidentified fugitives have been accused. The five detainees have been shown arrested and sent to court to petition for them to be remanded for seven days."
