Dhaka, Dec. 31 -- Police have arrested another suspect in the murder of Dipu Chandra Das, who was beaten to death in Mymensingh's Bhaluka before his body was hung from a tree and set on fire.

The newly arrested suspect, identified as Nibir Islam Anik, 20, who hailed from Mymensingh's Trishal, reportedly helped to hang Dipu's body from the tree on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.

Nibir, who worked at a knitting factory in Bhaluka, was arrested at Cherag Ali in Tongi on Tuesday afternoon, said Abdulla Al Mamun, an additional police superintendent.

Dipu, a man from the Hindu community, was murdered on Dec 18. The grisly murder sparked uproar on social media after a video of the burning of Dipu's body went viral on Facebook.
