Dhaka, Feb. 4 -- The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) arrested Mukib Mia, a college teacher in Lalmonirhat who drew headlines for distributing the Awami League leaflets demanding the resignation of the interim government.

Mukib distributed the leaflets on the streets of Dhaka streets as per the Awami League programme.

Mukib was arrested from the home of Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University Deputy Registrar Iliyasur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Monday night, said DB Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik.

However, he did not provide any detail on which case or under which police station Mukib Mia was arrested.
