Dhaka, Feb. 15 -- Police have moved several people to safety, including Dhaka University's Professor AKM Jamal Uddin, after they were reportedly assaulted and harassed while attempting to pay their respects at Dhanmondi 32.
The incident occurred around 4:45pm on Sunday, when a woman and a group led by Prof Jamal arrived at the historic site to lay floral wreaths.
Witnesses saw a middle-aged woman delivering a speech through a megaphone, accompanied by her daughter.
When police officers took away the loudspeaker and requested that she leave the premises, a heated altercation ensued.
