Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will use his personal vehicle for official travel instead of the government car allocated to his office.
BNP Media Cell member Atiqur Rahman Ruman said on Wednesday that the prime minister will travel in his own Toyota car, with his own driver and fuel purchased privately.
"He is not using the official vehicle of the prime minister," Ruman said.
He added that during Wednesday's engagements, Tarique travelled to the National Memorial in Savar and to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in his personal car before proceeding to the Secretariat in the same vehicle.
The prime minister has also reduced the size of his motorcade, citing traffic concerns.
