Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- Newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar along with his cabinet colleagues.
The premier and members of the new government laid wreaths at the National Memorial at 11am on Wednesday.
After paying respects there, the BNP chief and cabinet members are scheduled to pay their respects at the graves of Tarique's parents, former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Tarique will then head to the Secretariat, where the first cabinet meeting of the new administration is set to be held in the afternoon.
The prime minister will later meet secretaries.
