Dhaka, Jan. 6 -- Police have arrested the father and uncle of an 11-year-old girl whose body was found stuffed inside a sack in the kitchen of a house in Rangabali Upazila of Patuakhali.

Based on a confessional statement given by the uncle in court, police say the girl's father planned the killing after the child discovered him "molesting a relative".

The father allegedly arranged for his cousin to kill his own daughter and attempted to dispose of the body.

Rangabali Police chief Md Sirajul Islam said the child's uncle was arrested on Monday and later confessed to the crime at a Patuakhali court.

The girl's father was produced in court on Tuesday afternoon and placed in custody to be interrogated for two days, he said.
