Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- The highest number of nomination papers submitted for a single seat in the parliamentary elections is 18, while the lowest is two.
On Monday, 2,582 candidates tendered their nominations across 300 parliamentary constituencies.
Analysis of the submissions reveals that Pirojpur-1 has the lowest turnout with only two candidates. Dhaka-2, Thakurgaon-3, Chattogram-15, and Meherpur-2 each received three nominations.
The highest volume of interest was recorded in Dhaka-12 and Gazipur-2, where 18 nomination papers were filed per seat.
The general election is scheduled for Feb 12.
