Dhaka, Nov. 30 -- Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has wished a swift recovery for former Bangladesh prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

He sent a letter on Friday conveying his prayers for her health, according to the BNP media cell.

Khaleda, 79, has long been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, and complications related to her kidneys, liver, lungs, and eyes.

She was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka's Bashundhara on Nov 23, with her condition described as "critical" over the past three days by the party and doctors.

BNP members flocked to the hospital amid news of her declining health, but Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir asked them to avoid gatherings.
