Dhaka, June 22 -- In response to criticism, the interim government has dropped the opportunity to legalise undisclosed income in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) approved the change in the final budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year on Sunday.
The budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year was approved at a meeting of the Advisory Council chaired by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus at his office on Sunday.
A press release sent by the Finance Ministry said, "The provision regarding investing in buildings or apartments by paying special taxes has been abolished."
