Dhaka, Aug. 30 -- In the Jahangirnagar University Central Student Council (JUCSU) election, only 34 out of 150 female positions will be contested across 10 women's halls.

The remaining 58 positions have no candidates, leaving them vacant, while 58 other seats will be uncontested, with candidates elected unopposed.

Among the 10 female halls, the lowest participation comes from Hall No 13, where only three candidates are running for 15 positions, leaving the rest unfilled.

Across the 11 male halls, 316 candidates are competing for 165 positions. However, 61 of these positions are uncontested, and seven positions across different halls remain vacant. So the polls will be contested for 97 male hall positions.
