Dhaka, July 1 -- The tally of deaths from mosquito-borne dengue has climbed to 43 after another individual died over the past 24 hours, while 386 new patients have been put under hospital care with the disease across Bangladesh.
The number of patients hospitalised with the disease this year rose to 10,682, while 19 of the fatalities were recorded in June alone.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said as many as 68 new patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city until Tuesday.
In addition, 73 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, eight in Mymensingh, 16 in Khulna, 19 in Chattogram, 163 in Barishal, and 30 in Sylhet.
As many as 1,230 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country.
