Dhaka, June 14 -- Another person has died of dengue while 169 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours.
The number of patients hospitalised with the disease this year has risen to 5,739.
The total number of deaths from the illness now stands at 29.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the latest victim was under treatment at a hospital in Chattogram.
As many as 35 new patients were hospitalised in the Dhaka metropolitan area until Saturday.
In addition, five were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 28 in the Chattogram Division, and 101 in the Barishal Division.
