Dhaka, July 27 -- Public and private offices will be open for six hours a day from 9am to 3pm on Jul 28, Jul 29, and Jul 30.

The new schedule was announced in a statement from the Ministry of Public Administration on Saturday. Office timing had been reduced to four hours on Wednesday and Thursday.

The six-hour workday will apply on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, said Abdullah Shibli Sadik Sadee, spokesman for the ministry.

Amid the unrest surrounding the quota reform movement, the Bangladesh government imposed a curfew in two stages from Jul 21 to Jul 23. The curfew was eased on Jul 24 as government offices were open from 11am to 3pm.
