Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has returned to his residence in Kolkata after receiving two days of treatment at a local hospital.

Quader, who has been in India since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata's New Town after complaining of severe throat pain and breathing difficulties.

Party insiders confirmed that the former minister, who is currently a fugitive from Bangladeshi law, also suffered from severe toothache during his stay.

He was discharged on Monday afternoon following an improvement in his condition.
