Dhaka, Dec. 7 -- New officers-in-charge (OCs) have been appointed to 12 police stations under the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police ahead of the parliamentary election.

The transfer came into effect on Sunday via an office order signed by RMP Commissioner Md Zillur Rahman.

The new station chiefs will take charge immediately per the order, RMP spokesperson and Deputy Commissioner Gaziur Rahman said.

According to the order, the OCs were selected through a lottery to take charge of the new stations, he added.

Among those newly appointed, Boalia Model Police chief Abul Kalam Azad was appointed to Motihar station, and Damkura station chief Rabiul Islam received charge of Boalia station.
