Dhaka, Feb. 14 -- The new government is set to be formally installed on Tuesday at the South Plaza of parliament, in a rare departure from long-established swearing-in tradition.

Preparations are under way for the South Plaza to host both key constitutional ceremonies on the same day: the oath-taking of newly elected members of parliament in the morning, followed by the installation of the new cabinet in the afternoon.

Parliament Secretariat Secretary Kaniz Moula confirmed late Saturday that logistical and ceremonial arrangements were being finalised for the twin events.

Traditionally, the president administers the oath of office to the prime minister and other ministers at Bangabhaban, the official residence of the head of state.
