Dhaka, Jan. 13 -- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the members of her cabinet have paid their respects at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Gopalganj's Tungipara after the Awami League won a fourth consecutive term in power.

Party leaders and activists chanted 'Joy Bangla' and 'Joy Bangabandhu' slogans as Awami League President Sheikh Hasina arrived on Saturday in Tungipara, her birthplace.

At 11:55 am, she paid her respects to her father, Bangabandhu, at his mausoleum.

Afterwards, she and her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, participated in a prayer service. They then spent a moment in silence next to their father's tomb.
