Dhaka, Aug. 3 -- Commemorating the anniversary of the July Uprising, the National Citizen Party (NCP) has unveiled a 24-point "manifesto for a New Bangladesh", pledging a new constitution, the formation of a "second republic", and justice for all July Uprising victims.
At the closing event of a month-long programme commemorating the Uprising, NCP Convenor Nahid Islam read out the declaration at Dhaka's Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday.
According to Nahid, the original one-point demand for ousting the Awami League government has now evolved into a 24-point roadmap reflecting the new political reality.
