Dhaka, Jan. 27 -- NCP Convenor Nahid Islam has alleged that the "attack" on the party's Dhaka-8 candidate Nasiruddin Patwary was carried out on the "instructions" of BNP candidate Mirza Abbas, with the "consent" of Tarique Rahman.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Nahid said attempts to intimidate his party would not succeed.
"We removed Hasina through a mass uprising, and now we cannot speak against Mirza Abbas? If they think fear will stop us, they are mistaken," he said.
Earlier in the day, the NCP's Chief Coordinator Patwary attended a pitha festival at Habibullah Bahar University College in Malibagh.
