Dhaka, May 22 -- The National Citizen Party (NCP) has demanded a complete restructuring of the Election Commission (EC) and threatened to boycott the general election if their demands are ignored.
After staging a two-hour demonstration outside the Election Commission headquarters in Agargaon on Wednesday, NCP leaders called for sweeping electoral reforms and warned that three key advisors-overseeing finance, education, and law-must resign if proposed changes are not implemented.
At the heart of the protest was Nasiruddin Patwari, the party's chief coordinator, who accused the advisors of acting as "mouthpieces for the BNP" and undermining national interests.
