Dhaka, May 4 -- Assailants on motorbikes have attacked the car of Hasnat Abdullah in Gazipur while the National Citizen Party (NCP) leader was travelling in it, injuring him in the process.

The incident occurred near the Chandna Intersection on Sunday evening, said Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Rabiul Hasan.

"He was returning to Dhaka after attending a function in the vicinity of Gazipur Agricultural University. While his convoy was stuck in a traffic jam in the Chandana intersection area, four-five motorcycles drove in and attacked his car," he said.

"He was injured in the attack and the car's windows and windshield were shattered as well. Later, after acquiring details from him, Hasnat was safely brought to Dhaka."...
