Dhaka, Jan. 2 -- Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser of the National Citizen Party's southern region, has alleged that the administration is taking sides with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

He expressed concern over the administration's neutrality ahead of the parliamentary polls scheduled to be held on Feb 12.

On Friday, he spoke with journalists at the district office of the returning officer in Cumilla after the scrutiny of the nomination papers for the Cumilla-4 constituency.

The returning officer declared the nomination papers of both Hasnat and Manzurul Ahsan Munshi valid.

"It seems the administration has leaned toward the BNP," Hasnat said, criticising what he described as the "administration's double standard".
