Dhaka, July 4 -- Following day-long protests and a highway blockade in Patiya, National Citizen Party (NCP), the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and the Bangladesh Democratic Student Parliament (BAGCHAS) have announced a movement demanding reform in the police force.

The declaration was made on Thursday during a press conference in Chattogram's Sholoshahar, where leaders also announced a protest march.

The conference was in response to a baton charge by police on members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Patiya on Tuesday.
