Dhaka, Oct. 23 -- Bangladeshi taxpayers residing abroad can now submit their online income tax returns or e-returns via email if they do not have a biometric SIM card registered in their name.

Previously, a One-Time Password (OTP) was sent to a Bangladeshi mobile SIM with biometric registration in the taxpayer's own name for online return filing, which created problems for those living overseas in submitting their e-returns.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) arranged to send the OTP to the email addresses of overseas Bangladeshi taxpayers instead of their mobile phones to resolve this issue, according to a press release issued by the agency on Thursday.
