Dhaka, Jan. 11 -- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has launched a service to pay large amounts of tax through Mobile Financial Service (MFS) and receive a receipt immediately.

To make tax payment "easy, fast, and digital", the tax collecting agency officially inaugurated the service at its office in Agargaon on Sunday.

During the event, Tk 130 million in tax at source and Tk 640 million in VAT were paid on a trial basis through MFS provider bKash Limited, the NBR said in a statement.

NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan said, "With the introduction of large-scale tax payments through MFS, paying taxes will be faster and easier for corporate taxpayers.
