Dhaka, May 30 -- Sports Correspondent

The National Sports Council (NSC) has cancelled Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed's candidacy as director, so he has automatically lost the precondition of being board chief.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the decision in a media statement at 11pm on Thursday.

Following the fall of the Awami League government, Faruque was appointed a director of the board through the nomination from the NSC and later elected president of the board.

Within nine months of that, Faruque lost his privilege to remain as a director following a no-confidence motion by eight directors of the board.
