Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- Interim government Sports Advisor Asif Nazrul has condemned the Indian cricket board's decision to drop Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Citing security risks, he instructed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to write to the International Cricket Council (ICC) seeking the relocation of Bangladesh's matches in the 2026 T20 World Cup from India to Sri Lanka.
Nazrul disclosed the directives in a Facebook post late on Saturday.
Nazrul said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had instructed the Kolkata Knight Riders to drop Bangladesh cricketer Mustafizur Rahman by "bowing to extremist communal groups", a move he said he "condemns and protests".
