Dhaka, Dec. 16 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has described the recent attack on Sharif Osman bin Hadi, convenor of the Inqilab Moncho, as not merely an assault on an individual but an attack on Bangladesh's very existence.

Yunus addressed the nation at 6pm on Tuesday, during a Victory Day address, calling for urgent protection of the country's youth.

He assured that the government is treating the incident with utmost seriousness.

"Those involved have been initially identified. I want to reassure the people that no conspirator will be spared, wherever they may be," Yunus said.
