Dhaka, Dec. 29 -- Monjila Jhuma has become the latest National Citizen Party (NCP) leader to pull out of the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding to a series of withdrawals from the youth-led party.

Despite having collected nomination papers for the Khagrachhari constituency, Jhuma, the NCP's central committee organiser for the southern region, announced her decision to withdraw in a post on her verified Facebook account late on Sunday.

The move was confirmed by the NCP's Khagrachhari District Convenor Mohammad Nur Alam.

In her post, Jhuma said she had been nominated by the party to run from the Khagrachhari constituency under the party's "Shapla Koli" symbol, and that the nomination papers were collected on her behalf on Dec 24. ...
