Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila has banned mobile phone usage for students from primary to secondary levels in all educational institutions.

The ban applies to all primary and secondary schools, technical institutions, and Ebtedayee and Dakhil madrasas from first through 10th grade.

The decision came at the monthly meeting of the law and order committee, chaired by Upazila administrator (UNO) Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Maruf, at the Upazila Parishad Hall on Monday.

Kamrul said, "The proposal to ban mobile phones was put forward to help students stay free from mobile addiction.

"The goal is to ensure that students can focus on their studies. This decision has been made for the betterment of students' futures."
