Dhaka, Feb. 10 -- A mild earthquake struck Bangladesh on Tuesday afternoon, shaking its northeastern district Sylhet.

The magnitude 4 tremor, with its epicentre in Gowainghat, was felt around 5:32pm, confirmed Md Sajib Hossain, a meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The tremor comes 10 days after the last one.

"The epicentre was in Gowainghat Upazila, located approximately 214km northeast of Dhaka," he said.

Following the earthquake, there have been no reports of damage or casualties.

Earlier, on the morning of Feb 1, a mild earthquake measuring around 3 on the Richter scale was felt in Sylhet and nearby areas.
