Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- A mild earthquake has struck Chhatak in Sunamganj, north-eastern Bangladesh, which was felt across nearby districts.
The tremor measured 4.1 on the Richter scale at 12:46pm on Thursday, said Shah Md Sajib Hossain, assistant meteorologist Sylhet Meteorological Office.
"The earthquake originated in Chhatak. As the magnitude was mild, no reports of damage have been received," he added.
Frequent tremors in recent weeks have fuelled anxiety among residents in Sylhet.
On Feb 10, a magnitude 4 earthquake shook the region at 5:32pm, with its epicentre in Gowainghat Upazila.
Earlier, on Feb 1, a magnitude 3 tremor was felt in Sylhet and other parts of the country around 4am.
